Staying at the Farm Cradle Country Tasmania this November and looking for something unique to do in-between your epic hikes of our islands beautiful Cradle Mountain?!

Then head on into Sheffield, a short 15minute drive from The Farm Cradle Country and check out the towns international mural fest!

Mural Fest is both a mural art competition and festival held annually in Sheffield, Tasmania’s ‘Town of Murals’. The first of its kind in the world, the competition is held in Mural Park, a purpose-built ‘outdoor art gallery’ in the heart of Sheffield, which attracts artists and visitors from around Australia and the world.

This years theme is Paint Me A Song & will feature 9 artists from around the country and as far away as New Zealand who will paint their interpretations of the theme live in front of visitors from far and wide.

The Mural Fest paint off begins Sunday November 1st 2026 at 9:00am and brushes down will be Saturday November 7th 12:00pm. If you like any of the murals you can snap up a miniature version of each of the murals painted this year at the miniatures auction held 2:00pm November 7th 2026.

The festival will also include a community arts exhibition titled Where Wild Things Sing and a community paint by numbers mural designed by Sheffields very own mural artist Lindsay Gardam.
