All Aboard ... The Don River Railway

Although Tassie doesn’t have a modern passenger railway system like many of our mainland Australian states we do have more then a century of railway history here in our beautiful island state.

Consider yourself a railway enthusiast ?! Then only a short 40 minute drive from The Farm Cradle Country will get you to Tassie’s third largest town of Devonport. It is here that you will find the Don River Railway.

A great destination for an enjoyable day out. The Don River Railway has a large number of heritage locomotives and carriages on display throughout the grounds and workshop. Their is an onsite museum and the best part is taking a short scenic train trip traveling on the eastern bank of the Don River to the junction at Coles Beach and back.

Wed: 9am – 12pm
Thurs – Sun: 9am – 3pm

Entry: $5 at the door

🚆 Trains:
Thurs – Sun: 10am – 2pm
