Our small island home of Tasmania produces some of Australia's most delicious wines with several of these coming from the north west corner of the state and just happen to be a short road trip from The Farm Cradle Country..

Exposed to the roaring forties there is no shortage of wind, rain, snow or hail challenges in this stunning landscape, however our growers seem to deliver year after year with superb drops to fill your glass.

We’ve compiled a list of 6 wineries that are close to The Farm Cradle Country that are sure to provide you with a memorable day out in our states scenic north west country side and once you return from your days adventures be sure to pour a glass of your new favourite drop and relax by the outdoor fireplace.

Ghost Rock Wines - 1055 Port Sorell Road, Northdown Tas

Located just 15 minutes from Devonport where the Spirit of Tasmania docks, Ghost Rock Wines offer one of Tasmania's most unique food and wine experiences!

With striking views over the vineyards and out to Bass Strait, their modern Cellar Door and Eatery offers tastings across their entire range, and a lunch menu featuring a variety of local produce. All their wines are grown, made and bottled on site.

Broad Acres Vineyard - 100 Westella Drive, Ulverstone Tas

Established in 2016 in the cool maritime climate of the North West of Tasmania, the coastal vineyard has five varieties of grapes: Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling. 

The vineyard is complimented by their onsite cafe Windows on Westella, which is open 7 days a week for tastings and cellar door sales.

La Villa Wines - 347 Mersey Main Road, Spreyton Tas

Handcrafted cool climate wines in a stunning location within the manicured grounds of La Villa, a nine hectare family owned vineyard.

Meander Valley Vineyard - 46 Montana Road, Red Hills Tas

Where hand-crafted wines capture the sunshine, breezes, fertile soils and open skies of northern Tasmania in a glass. Grapes picked from their single estate family owned vineyard.

Eastford Creek Vineyard - 269 Chapel Road, Sassafras Tas

Their first vines were planted in 2018 on a patch of otherwise unproductive land on the property tended by Rob and Sue Nichols. The vineyard sits atop a rocky outcrop looking across Eastford Creek and out at the prime fertile agricultural land of the North West Coast. Their wine has been hand crafted in small batches on-site by our award winning wine maker, whose high standards ensure you only get the best they have to offer. A love of the land and the history of their location is evident in the re imagining of the on-site Granary and Pumpkin Sheds into their cellar door and weddings and events spaces with a rustic feeling which connects all to the heritage and beauty of the landscape.  

Leven Valley Vineyard - 21 Raymond Road, Gunns Plains Tas

Be consumed by the Leven Valley Vineyard. Situated on a north-facing hill overlooking the picturesque Gunns Plains just 20 minutes south of Ulverstone, North West Tasmania. The Leven Valley Vineyard takes in the panoramic views of the Leven River and surrounds, whilst offer a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere.

The cellar door is designed to showcase their boutique cool climate wines made from grapes grown on the estate and hand made locally. Visit their cellar door to enjoy a glass of boutique wine. The cellar door also offers facilities for customers to bring their own nibbles or picnic to enjoy in our garden.
